    Kilburn Gun Camera

Anybody ever see or use one? 4X5 Special

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...and%20triggers.

I once held and looked out a window with a 35mm much newer version when I was 16

I was told it was very valuable, so I put it down

and pointing anything like that may get a deadly response

This site claims to have sold one without the gun base: https://www.gmcamera.com/product/rar...-w-brass-lens/ I can't honestly tell from the pictures if it is or not. One thing though in both the ad and this sold camera, the bellows extension seems far to short to do any kind of wildlife photography. So maybe it was just an advertising gimmick for a general purpose camera?

I wouldn't aim it at important politicians.

Has anyone else tried the only one of these that's affordable, the Russian Photosnaiper outfit? I was able to take decent photos with one, hand-held at 1/15th (300mm lens). You need the complete kit with the Zenit camera with the shutter button on the base.

I saw one at an antique shop in Mississippi in pristine condition for $200 a couple years ago. I should check next time I visit if it's still there, maybe they'll take an offer! I played with it a bit and seemed nice for the intended usage i.e. birding or other handheld long tele shooting.

i have seen the ads before - not the actual camers

I did get the chance to handle one of these - but it was priced out of my toy range
