Watson Acme

Hi

I have a Watson Acme that I have been using for 5x7 paper negatives, made between 1890 to 1940, ish. The actual recess in the holder is 5x7-1/2'.
I would love to find out more information relating to the holders size and the process it was designed for. All I can find on the web is that it was possibly a glass 1/2 plate?

Can anybody help with this?
