    Probably less contacts than sensors because of some common signal. Like to average over the position. If they are towards the lamp, then controlling the lamp is probably correct.

    If they are towards the lamp, they cannot be used to control exposure as you have no information on diaphragm used. Nor of the distance to the paper.
    Expert in non-working solutions.
