I have seen a few rigs with winches on both ends
and one that can be put on a hitch front and rear
My F150 is 2WD on purpose, to keep me out of the middle of nowhere
that works sometimes
I always have several long snatch straps on board
Made in USA with some very large capacity at the link

Two wheel drive isn't so convenient when you're a 150 miles down a seemingly decent road in the desert and suddenly encounter a flashflood washout, and hope you have enough fuel left to get all the way back to where you came from. That has certainly happened to me, and many analogous incidents. A better incentive not to abuse the 4WD feature is the sheer cost of replacing suitable tires and shocks too often. But when you need it, you need it.
In case you were wondering, no you can't tow a camper trailer with an Electric Vehicle across the long isolated stretches of Wyoming, Colorado etc. Honestly, though I could get to a lot of local destinations quite easily with that rig. I live in Washington where there are three national parks relatively close to each other. You always have to consider the use case.
I've had 4WDs and will get another one next time 'round.
There are too many good places beyond where the pavement ends
Even if you never have to put it in 4WD the front ends are generally heavier than the 2WD versions
That's important if you drive much on fire break roads
