Proaim states the Geared Head is about 16.5 kg (about 37 lbs). The 67.5 lbs weight is for the head and the case and all the included packaging. https://www.proaim.com/products/proa...on-geared-head

I have a far better micrometer driven geared head made from a forged bronze housing. I got it free, military surplus. It was originally made for calibrating heavy artillery sights on WWII battleships, so had to be engineered extremely solid and shock-proof. I use if for my yaw-free control on my big 14 ft tall 8x10 additive color enlarger. The cost of making something like that today would be ridiculous. I haven't bothered to weigh it.

Not so sure "adequate" is enough for an 8x10 ;-)

I am not personally a fan of ballheads for LF cameras. Just me perhaps. I do prefer a geared head and have used a Majestic tripod and gearhead since the early 70's whenever I can for 5x7 and 8x10 work. For longer hikes I do take a Tiltall tripod and shoot 4x5 instead though.
