    old xtol

    hi all

    I have some unopened xtol that shows an exp date of 2009, do you think its still good to use?

    I would certainly give it a try. My bet would be it's just fine. In my experience unopened Xtol is good way past it's exp date. YMMV. This is of course if it's been stored (most of it's life) in favorable conditions.

    You could mix a batch of your Xtol & with a "test" roll/sheet give it a go to see what it tells you.

    Take a strip of 35mm undeveloped film in roomlight, and stick it in some of the developer, while timing it for 3 to 4 minutes, as it should turn dark grey/black... Then it's good...

    hi all,
    just developed some test sheets it did develop the sheets but major staining/blotches occurred... ah well guess I'll just have to wait for my b&h shipment...
