Old stock of Kodak D-19 developer and Zone VI fixer

Can either of these be used after long storage? The fixer is actually a little hard but I would like to use it if I can. Kodak D-19 doesn't seem to be recommended for regular film such as HP-5. Any suggestions?

While it pains me to dump unused chemicals, I have to say what's the point of taking risks? Life is short and chemicals are cheap. Get some fresh chemicals so that you can concentrate on making good images. Just one man's opinion.

D-19 is a high-contrast developer meant for scientific, technical, and graphic-arts applications. Not meant for normal pictorial photography- so no need t save it. The Z-VI fixer is (IIRC) similar to Kodak F-6. That should still work- but no need to take chances; I'd toss it and use fresh.

I use D-19 when I need to add contrast to a very flat subject.

I have some Zone VI fixer over 30 years old. I use it all the time and will continue to do so until the supply is gone.
