    Indeed it is!

I'm down to the last apples on the tree, but these are always the sweetest.

Here in New England if there's a good bit of snow on the ground and the air a tad bit on the warm side, a low level of advection fog forms. Out West is referred to as pogonip. Imagine driving around 40 mph and into an advection fog bank and all of a sudden everything turns white. If there's a layer of snow on the road's surface, you can't quickly brake lest your car will go into a skid. Happened to me a few years ago. I was lucky and able to slow down to a crawl. Next morning traveled the same route and came across a car upended on the roadside guard posts at one end of a parking lot. They must have been looking out the passenger side window following the line of guard posts. Unfortunately they didn't realize that they had driven into that side of the road parking lot whose guard posts abruptly formed a right angle to the left at one end.

Wow, what variety? Our Gravensteins were done by early September.

I can't remember the variety of hybrid. It was a gift tree. They're generally a bit tart, so make an excellent cooking apple, but the remaining cold weather ones are quite sweet.
