I don't pay much attention to the difference. Sinar and its asymmetrical base tilts makes sense in studio tabletop photography. Outdoors, plane of focus is generally too uneven to take advantage of their prescribed method. Maybe it's different in flatland Kansas. The F and P series have slightly different methods, and I now use a Sinar Norma anyway, prior to those innovations. I just do everything visually, regardless of whether I'm using an axis-tilt folding camera, a base tilt monorail model, or one having both features. A person just gets accustomed to this or that method after awhile, and it becomes intuitive. Otherwise, Doremus has basically summarized things.
