    Quick releases clamps and plates

Mine broke. I need another. I have an old Gitzo 3-way head and a Chamonix 45H-1 4x5 large format camera. I also will be shooting with a Mamiya RB67 medium format camera with the same tripod. The Mamiya is actually heavier around 9 pounds with lens.

So which quick-release system works well for both?

See pictures of existing. The existing broken GZitzo 365 holder is about 2x3". The third picture shows how it slides on to get clamped onto tripod 3-way head. I assume other replacement clamps have that capability.

    Thanks.

I have and use only this one https://store.kesslercrane.com/produ...-stand-xl.html

It works for me on all my portable cameras, from D750 to 4X5 to 11X14 and yes RB67 SD as in these pics

What I like is all those threaded holes on the bottom of the clamp

Only thing I don't like is one of the tiny rubber foot pads fell off, but makes no difference

Thanks for the pictures. Those are great. The Rb67 screw plate stands slightly higher than the rest of the bottom of the RB67 where the length runs. Does that cause a little see-saw wobble front to rear on the quick plate?

I don't keep my lens on in the case. SO I would go for the smaller quick release stand.
    This https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...and.html/specs
    or https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...era_plate.html
or this one although might be too small but wouldn't;t wobble. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...ini_plate.html
Would this plate be able to be screwed on. It would cover the whole bottom of the camera.

Here is an Arca Swiss plate that's made to fit the RB67, RZ67 and 645. It has two pins that fit into the two holes on each side of the RB67 screw plate to prevent twisting. The question is will it work with the Kessler system?

I’ve seen lighter cameras than the RB67 fall off of the Bogen system. The clamp just doesn’t hold the camera plate. I use Really Right Stuff system clamps with everything from my Nikon F, my Nikon D750, through 4x5 including the RB67. The company used to list a specific camera plate for the RB67, but I don’t see it online anymore. You might give them a call.

I can only speak to RB67 SD and it's entire machined mounting points are evenly flat, the screw hole is NOT proud

I find no motion or rocking of the adapter or camera, the camera plates may be used at any angle allowing for more clamp area. RB also can use a 3/8-16 screw for more torque

I like the long plate as I can move any camera center of gravity by using up to 4.75" of plate slot. RB and many cameras can use well extended lens, CG will change.

I may buy a short plate next year

However I have warned before on this forum to never use Arca TYPE plates on anything except their matching clamp as there is no standard Arca TYPE size. They vary drastically and will ruin your day.

If you want pins for RB I think Kessler Crane has a plate with space to drill and instal pins.

I trusted my New 11X14 camera and liked that I could move CG up to the above distance.

    Hasselblad quick release and plate.

Many years ago, made a very thin plate of aluminum to fit-work with the Hasselblad quick release. Been using it since as this system is small, light weight, very stable and enough for field folder.

Other quick release systems tried tended to be bulky, heavy and ...
