The condenser head should come off with the thumb-screws. Use SAE tools to remove the column from the baseboard and I think that is all you need. That is the sequence I used to get both my Omega D5500 home (one at a time) in a 3-series car with fold-down back seat.

If you're moving a big enlarger, get a hand truck or furniture dollies-your back will thank you.

I wish you'd taken pictures of that!

Those are “baby” enlargers I thought you were talking about an 8x10 Saltzman or Fotar. Should be an easy fit in a wagon or SUV. I transported an 810 DeVere 1000 miles in a Honda Odyssey!

Welp it's official! I now have the makings of a darkroom. It was only 6miles to transport but despite the exorbitant taxes here in Chicago the potholes made for quite the long trip since I was trying to keep everything from getting smashed to pieces in my trunk. There were a few harrowing moments for sure!

This was way more manageable than I expected even with two enlargers. Thanks to everyone for the words of wisdom. Here are some photos of the back of my Chevy Volt. All I had to do was told down the back seats and there was plenty of room. The seller threw in a mechanical dry mounting/laminating press. Not sure how to use it but it came with a paper manual and a vhs. Now I just need a vcr... Can I use it for flattening prints?

Seal press, 4-blade easel and large trays! Good haul! Not the usual junk.

That mounting press is great for flattening prints...you'll want some release paper, and a large flat weight, like a smooth board with books on top, also..
