The Bear Hunters - Douglas Tilden, Paris 1892

Reprinted it this morning at the start of the 2d cup of coffee. The first was printed too dark as you can see in the background Administration building (the cloud cover was almost 100% when I started exposure) and toned it with a different toner. Minor processing error at the top from handling the print during processing - I'm using 8x10 size paper the same size as the negative - and I let the toner proceed to far from what I now envision to be "right look." All easily correctable though and I anticipate the next print being a "masterpiece."

So far the sculpture has survived at least one attempt by the cancel culture for its removal https://www.change.org/p/california-...campus-grounds. Tilden's Junipero Serra stature in Golden Gate Park was toppled during the summer: https://www.mercurynews.com/2020/06/...den-gate-park/

    Re: Sculpture

Sculpture is very old, perhaps our first Art or not. as sounds probably preceded other manifestations

Seems every so often we destroy our past and Art

CC is just another word for Aniconism

But the sands of time sometimes save too, Göbekli Tepe

however we go way father back in time fighting dying and blaming others for infringement

and we now can destroy all life

    for a while...

That seemed a little absurd so I checked Media Bias / Fact Check, https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/
and that publication is a satirical publication.
    Maybe something like The Onion.

    Re: Sculpture

Many recoiled in horror and protested when Centuries old cliff carvings were destroyed in Afghanistan because they did not fit in with the religious belief of those who took over the country.

Now we have it in so-called "civilized" nations.

Tolerance is an engineering term only, it seems.
