    California Volunteers - Douglas Tilden sculptor, San Francisco 1906.


    This work was dedicated and installed at the intersection of Market and Van Ness (then as today a significant and major intersection in downtown San Francisco) on 12 August 1906 - just 2 months before the infamous 1906 earthquake destroyed the city.
