Hello Community, I just bought this beautiful Voigtländer brass lens, but I cannot find any exact info about it.

My Voigtländer lenses are newer in serial number.

    The lens is 12cm high.
The engraving says "Voigtländer & Sohn Wien Braunschweig"
    Serial Number 22280

And then there is a C engraved on the lens... That´s the problem why I cannot identify it. Never heard or read about the "C" type.

    Thanks a lot

When you take the rear element group out, are they cemented together or air spaced?

It's more then likely an earlier Voigtlander Rapid Rectilinear in either F6 or F8 maximum aperture later called Euryskope and each had a intended purpose like WA RR or med WA or better coverage in the slower f8 or better portraiture quality w/ the f6.

Actually, with these Voigtlander Euryscops the f6 (Series IV) version almost always has better coverage than the f8 (Series VI version.) That 'C' is a challenge. We had a similar lens asked about with an 'A' engraved in the same spot. I don't think that poster ever got back to us about it's configuration.

I have added this new C to our early Euryscope list.

Thanks for all of your answers, I will test the lens when it arrives, so I could tell you the exact focal length and aperture

My measures say that the lens must be approximately 440mm f 6.5
