    Cordless telephone for darkroom

I had a Radioshack cordless telephone in my darkroom. It died. The nice thing about the Radioshack phone was that it didn't have any lights on it. I simply remained dark when it rang. Doeas anyone have any suggestions for a replacement?

    Thank you in advance.

Assuming you have a phone line you could try a rotary phone, they still make them. No lights!

Ditto... once had my iPhone in my T-shirt pocket light up with an incoming call while I was hand processing some 11x14 film in a tray. Unfortunately the phone was facing away from me and its illumination fogged the film. Since then simply just leave my iPhone outside the darkroom. Rotary phone option would work but prefer to just leave any phones out of the darkroom... Prefer to listen to music and not the ringing of an incoming call.

If you have a landline, you could set up a wall-mounted phone that ordinarily has no light....I have a similar Ma-Bell type from 70's (?), but mine is hooked up to this little Sprint box that works on cell tech; therefore, the gismo lights up and not the phone. I was going to provide amazon link, but it takes up 5 lines :>)....you should be able to find it.

If you're adept at soldering and taking things apart you could replace the LED's
in a new cordless phone with LED's of the right spectrum for paper,
or remove / black out the LED's if you're tray developing film.
Black electrical tape over the screen would do too.

...or a sheet of red gel taped over the screen so you can still see it!

Many years ago (early 1980's), Craig Stevens gave me a tour of his darkroom at the Maine Photographic Workshops (great era when it was still called MPW!) - and I noticed that he had a TV set with its screen covered with a "paper safe" filter!

Set cell phone to speaker. Put phone in box. Answer calls by voice
