Cable release solutions for a recessed board?

So I'm trying to find a solution for attaching a cable shutter release on a recessed lens board. I'm dealing with a 47mm Copal 0 on a Wista board mounted on a Chamonix 45N-2. My current solution to the problem has been to acquire an old spoke from a bicycle wheel and bend it to fit through the threaded attachment for the cable release and then to engage the shutter trigger. This has proven to be functional but not very efficient.

I found a backordered "flexible" extension on B&H, but I'm wondering what everyone else has come up with to this solution. I'm game for DIY as well as "off the shelf" solutions.

On Cambo recessed boards I use a flexible extension. I leave them on the shutter for increased convenience. If they are backordered, shop around. I’ve found them to list stuff they don’t have too often and have not only got it faster elsewhere but at a better price. Most recent, a tripod replacement part they listed at $15, backordered, and I got it in2 days at $8.

I used one of these when I had a 75mm on a recessed board on a Toyo. Perfect.

The Gepe flex extension that is back ordered ob B&H is the only long-term approach that I’ve found truly and really works and stands the test of time. Everything else stops working or gets broken or loose too often.

I haven’t bought from these guys but it seems available and cheaper than B&H:

Yeah that’s what I’ve been looking at on B&H’s site. I hadn’t found anywhere that had it in stock. Thanks for that link... I’ll dig into it for sure!

I’ve used a similar piece in the past but it doesn’t fit this configuration unfortunately. Thanks though!

I like it! That’s what I was originally thinking of making with the bike spoke but it doesn’t fit through the lens board attachment point. What is the wire made from? Did you have to alter its diameter to fit the existing openings?

Essentially mine is a copy of the Linhof recessed board with mounted cable release, it came with the 65mm lens as you see it. The individual components are available as far as I know, but I've never looked.

What I have is fairly common as I remember seeing a similar lens board and recessed cable release holder around 30 years ago on a 4x5" camera being used.
