Rodenstock lens set. Any information about this one?

This Rodenstock lens set is being offered over here in Brazil at ~200 euros price. Glass is nice but there is one broken iris blade inside. I don't know anything about it and searched for Rodenstock Casket, Trousse, Satz ... nothing. looked into Vademecum...nothing alike. I don't understand why such a huge and heavy mechanism and two levers. One for aperture is OK. But what for the second one? It is not a shutter. Does anybody know what lens set is this? It has 6 lenses, is it complete? Does it worth 200 euros with a broken iris?

Most probably the lens is screwed in a helical (or in German: Schneckengang); lot of German lenses were delivered in such helicals.

...you could ask the seller why he thinks its a lens from Rodenstock...don't see any names in the picture...
there's a lens set from Rodenstock on Ebay, but quite different from the one you've posted: https://picclick.de/Lens-Brass-Roden...463137327.html

It is Rodenstock, I picked this picture because it gives a reference of size. But there are others with engravings.
You are right about the helical. Only now I paid attention to the video. Auction was last week but it was not sold so I have the chance to go there and make an offer.

nice, never seen before. On the rim it seems to read Bildaufn .....Mattscheibe..... This means it is a so-called Bistigmat - these lenses were not color corrected, so after you have focussed on the ground glass screen (in German: Mattscheibe), you had to adjust the barrel to get a sharp image on the film/glass negative. I sold a Bistigmat a few years ago, since I couldn't get used to focus it the right way.

can't see from the pictures though whether the lens is complete: it seems that the lens at the back is missing..not sure...

The engraving is on the helical:

The lens displacement when the lever is actuated is so long that it makes me think it could be in a camera without bellows. It is a small lens, all the way forward it will probably focus a short distance subject.

You're correct, the helical lenses were sold with camera's that had fixed bellows (e.g. ICA minimum Palmos, Ernemann Klapp) or no bellows at all. But there is also a ring at the helical for correcting the focus, so it seems for sure a Bistigmat which were mainly made by Rodenstock.

There is also something written at the right side from 'Mattscheibe' but I can't read it.

Found the 3rd word :-) "Einstellung" which means 'Adjustment'

Here's a clearer picture found somewhere else on the net:

with its case which reads "Rodenstock Bistigmat Objetivsatz":

    found another one:

    ...and another one....not that rare.?..

    this one didn't sell:

Thank you Ron, with the key word you gave me "Bistigmat", I was able to find a lot more information on the web and also in other threads over here in LFPF.

Thanks for the additional info. So there were quite many different options to choose from.....all kind of combinations (total of 26!) of front and back (7) lenses and some used only as a back lens. Btw "Brennweite" means 'focusdistance'.

This manual makes it clear that these lenses were not so easy in practise e.g. you had to make some calculations to find with each combination the corresponding f-stop.
Further the manual makes clear that you could use certain combinations as wide angle lens by taking out some rings from the barrel.
