Nice coating bell in that fourth pic. Been trying to get my hands on a used one for my basement for a few years now but they are $$$

Since I'll never be near 4-4-9 Kitashinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, I was thinking who in USA on APUG or LF forum could do this..... ^^^^^^^^

I asked Yamasaki-san about ordering from abroad in case anybody is interested in polishing and coating old lenses.
He said it’s ony through shops in Japan.
I will ask him again about which shops accept orders from abroad usually.

Dan, yes you’re right.
Please do not confuse two companies similar in the names.
Congo lenses were made by Yamasaki Optics Lens Lab, which closed business in 2013.
Taiyo lenses were made by Yamasaki Optics Photographic Lens Lab, which is still in business.
Of course the owners are relatives.

Just as a note, “Congo” brand name is derived from “金剛”, which means hard and strong.
