How to fabricate a finder mask?

On top of my P.90/2 Stenope pinhole camera I have mounted a FOTOMAN finder. The mask that came with it is metal and covers way more than the coverage of the panoramic pinhole camera. Metal mask is .011 inches (.29mm) thick and painted black.

Advice on how to fabricate another metal mask to match the coverage of the pinhole's panoramic image needed. Figuring out the size of the rectangular opening in it is easy. Fabricating the metal mask, I'm not sure where to begin.... aluminum, steel, brass, or ? .29mm shim stock? How to cut out the shape and the opening?

Also consider thin clear plastics, and mask off with red or silver stripping tape... This way you can "adjust" the mask opening by re-taping until correct...

Made a mask from a spare 4x5 dark slide and found out that it was too thick to fit inside the finder. Looked around for a stiff sheet of clear thin plastic and found one. Cut to size it also was too thick to fit inside the finder. Then while loading an 8x10 sheet of film into a holder realized that the answer was right there in my hand. Ended up cutting the mask from an undeveloped sheet of 8x10 film. Cutting the rectangular hole took a few tries since it measured only 8mm x 5.3mm. Final mask works great.

I have made bunch of masks for a Horseman 6x12 finder on a 3d printer. Not metal, but work well and accurate.
