If you want to use the 212 lamp, then you can't use the vario control psu.

It's marked 0-100 Watts power output, and has a 0-12v voltage output. As is mentioned, that's too low for a 115-125v 150W lamp, so no surprise the lamp doesn't glow.

I'm not sure which opal lamps use 12v 100W with an ES (Edison Screw) cap. Maybe one of the manuals will define the lamp number?

If you want to stick with this enlarger, i'd suggest getting a Multigrade 500 kit or the CLS450/500 head.

A more expensive option is to have the Mixing Box converted to an LED light source.
I know someone whose L1200 head was badly damaged when he shipped it to his new home. The conversion was made by Heiland in Germany.
Durst color heads do turn up now and then on the German auction site; somewhat less frequently in the US.

Thanks for posting the picture. Looks like some combination of the Varipoint or Femokit with Opal lamp. Now you have potential names for your head this can aid your search for operating instructions.

Searching Varipoint and Femokit I came up with these instructions below.

Can you post some more detailed pictures of your equipment to decide which you have? The drawings seem to indicate the plug from the head is different on the two.

Your images are dead links on at least the mobile forum.

Here is the plug from the head going into the rear of the power unit

I fixed the dead links in post #14.

Based on those pictures of the plug, it appears that you have the Varipoint head as was suggested in post #7 above.

I believe you have the wrong lamp and the correct lamp looks like this and is called "100 R/12 Point Light Lamp" in the manual.

Per a friend online I picked up a 12v 100 watt RV bulb and alas, it works.

However , I am exploring the MG500 head option and am curious what the difference is between these two approaches...

Nice that you got it working. Have you made any prints with it yet?

With the head you currently have, you'll have to use filters to change contrast. The Ilford MG Head has a computer-controlled filter built in to the head. You basically punch in the contrast number you want and it uses a motor to move a filter in front of the bulb.

If you want the ultimate in reliability and versatility, look for a CLS 500 or 501 color head. No computer parts to break in those, they'll work with any timer and will be great for black and white or Color work.

Going to give this a go... since the MG500 head didn’t come with a proper Ilford to Durst Adapter I found this adapter that runs the head through the condensers.
