    C.D.V. Lenses FL f stop 4 UP 1860's?

what were the lenses used in C.D.V. 4 lens cameras, from 1854 to 1870?

what newer lens could create the same images?

camera box is very simple, with dividers

any 4 matching lenses may be...

    affordable preferred

    no shutters

    needed

6-8 inch focal length. Historically, these would be "Gem" lenses with a very simple barrel. A cheap modern solution could be slide projector lenses (if they cover), or for better quality and a built in aperture, start accumulating the 8 1/4 f/4.5 Rank Taylor Hobson photocopy lenses. I see them go by on eBay for $30-$50 each. I have a couple and they're real sleepers.

Great. I may have 1 or 2, gotta search the shed

KEH has a real ugly one, I can see the front element scratches in their pic, I will pass on that

    WTB will coming up

    Thanks Mark!

Found a modern camera that can produce 4 same or 4 different images on 4X5 film, including wet plate

No it's not a CDV camera, they are way too collectible, too expensive a set of four identical lenses is a big problem

Polaroid Mini-portrait 452 will work for me, I could even hide it in an old wood box...maybe...not

It is built like a tank, cast aluminum, no electronics, has flash sync

Mine was sold as never used, but no box, manual, back. It is very clean

Here is a test shot today

Tomorrow negatives, and later wet or dry plate

You can do that with Sinar Norma.

They made a wooden insert that divides into four quadrants.

And four lenses (look like simple ones) on a Norma board.

I see them sometimes and they seem to be hard to sell.

The Sinar unit indeed produced quit sharp images. I have also seen one for a Cambo, but not sure if it was an OEM Cambo brand. Have seen the Sinar 4 lens units up for auction for downright bargain prices and not sell. Question is how to phrase your search wording as to come up with one. Personally when I was looking for accessories to complete my Sinar Norma systems, I'd just search for "Sinar" and take the time to go through all the hits. Finally found and won a Sinar front surface mirror which was only listed as something like "Sinar part or accessory".

Good advice Greg, and somebody else told me in PM about a set in EU which is NOT cheap

    I made a 24 hour offer

    so maybe...
