There was a thread on this site about (I think it was) Intrepid Camera wanting to introduce one so their camera users could also enlarge fairly recently... Search here for enlarger/enlarging attachment, Intrepid, graphlarger, etc...

I had two book publishing projects where I had to print 4X5 negs, but didn't have an enlarger set-up then... I had a couple of complete enlargers in parts in a pile, but remembered I had a Graphlarger working, a battered old SG, and borrowed a Polaroid MP-4 copy stand and together they made a good enlarger that got the negatives to print, so not bad if you do it right...

Though there are MANY orphan enlargers out there now, so keep looking...

    Happy hunting,

    Steve K

I recently missed out on a complete, free 4x5 darkroom in Savannah by only a couple of hours. I'll keep looking. I'm not really handy with electrical stuff anyway.
There are a few threads I ran across (maybe on another forum) of members converting home made large format cameras into enlargers that can give you ideas about attaching the light source to the back of the camera. If you go with a two-plane glass negative carrier that can be very easy to make.
