Deardorff SC11 11x14 Studio Camera Front Assembly Photographs

I am wondering if anyone would be willing to the front of their Dearorff SC11 off the camera and photograph, and better yet, measure each of the four panels that make up the mechanism? I would be willing to pay for this service. I was able to get into the High Point Museum today and make some measurements and videos, and it was very helpful, but I would love to see the parts taken apart and see how wide the stiles and rails are for the two panels constructed in that way, and how large the rectangular openings are in each panel (I know lensboard opening is 8"x8").

I am trying to re-create this piece, as my camera did not come with one. I know I can just make a simple board to take the place of this mechanism, and may do so. To be clear, I have attached pictures of what I am talking about. I do not simply need a lensboard.

    I feel your pain

I will not, as it requires a lot of work, including dismounting my 4" ID Packard shutter installed inside

I know there are felt light traps too

Perhaps somebody has one in bits

and what if a beautiful sitter shows up just when I take it apart?

or I pass away and nobody ever puts Humpty Dumpty back together...

    That would haunt me

    Good luck!

Not sure if I can help--as the 14x14 seems a bit different. Let me know if/what to measure for you. Click image for larger version.

I really appreciate it, but that front looks completely different. I didn't even know they made a 14x14!

    Thank you for the offer.

Just curious. What do you have? Is there a back? What size back? Do you have the stand? Mine came with the rotary 8x10 back which allows use of 5x7, 4x5 etc.

I'm not going to take mine apart but may be able to help. PM me a email, cell number. There's a lot of little details that aren't apparent. These guys were extraordinary craftspeople.

I have an 11x14 SC 11 with an 11x14 back, and a rotating 8x10 back. My V8 8x10 back and 4x5 reducing backs fit into the rotating back, and I also have all the bellows extensions.

I have the stand and have just refurbished it.

What I don't have is the entire front mechanism of the camera. I have the two outer rails which screw to the front of the camera, but none of the rise/fall and shift mechanism. The first picture is what the front of my camera looks like. The second image is what I am missing, highlighted in green.

I'll send you a PM with my contact info.

    Thank you!

Now we know what exactly you need.

I assumed you needed more, the green told me nothing

and far easier to take those missing parts apart

obvious now, you only need up and down then back and forth, not making a joke!

    the plot is afoot

This is the back of the front of mine. Clearly I need to do more cleaning.

My SC11 is number #136, the lens board is centered both L to R and top to bottom in the photos.
