My 2019 Giant is most like this 2020 model. The 2019 has a bigger battery
I also changed the seat to leather Brooks I already had. Changed handlebars, grips and stem rise to fit this old man
Added a tow hitch, which is nearly invisible to tow this I already had this ad bare frame without the bag
Battery life varies on usage, it has a 'gas' gauge and I never want to run out of gas

You might be able to carry a spare battery that's cheaper. One of the Paul Buff lithium batteries might be able to recharge the one on the bike and it's much cheaper.

Charging up a 500 Wh battery with a 120 Wh battery might get you home. But one might as well spend the bucks and get an extra battery designed for the system. The motor draws power from one battery, then the other...going back and forth. Charges the same way.
