    Re: June Portraits

Inchkin, these portraits capture better than most attempts I have seen, the quality of portraits made a century or so ago. Well done, and with perhaps one exception, quite a departure from the portraits of (I presume) your children on your Flickr page. The one is toward the bottom of the first page, the boy holding the pole over his shoulder, which is especially successful.

    Thank you all gentlemen !

"the boy holding the pole over his shoulder"
Philip, you intrigued me! Please show me a portrait of a boy with a pole on my Flickr page.

Is the sepia tone added to a wet print, or is it done digitally?
Really enjoy both photos with this officer and gentleman.
Great look, it's a wonderful throwback that feels completely authentic.

I hope I'm not bending the rules (!) but here are two equine portraits I recently took of some Shire horses with my Toyo 45C on Astia 100.

    Re: June Portraits

Not really a portrait, more like we were in the same place at the same time, and I happened to have a camera.

Kodak 2D, Ilex Paragon Anastigmat f/4.5, Arista 100

I finally found out how to remove the diffusion limiter on the 12" Paragon lens. Ya gotta remove the front element first, the screw is inside.
This photo shows the effect of 4 full turns past "5", the previous maximum setting.

    Re: June Portraits

Ari, what f stop for that one?
Four turns past the stop on my 12/4.5 SF Velostigmat, and you'd be staring at a pile of glass on the floor. 3.5 turns, max.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

    Re: June Portraits

    Hi Michael,
Wide open is my default f-stop, used here as well.
And yes, four turns is getting quite close to dropping the front lens, it likely had another quarter turn left.
