    Epson Perfection 2450 still useable?

I would like to put some of my 4x5 b&w images online. I have an “old” Epson Perfection 2450 scanner. I haven’t been able to make it work with my Windows 11 PC; apparently there are no drivers available. The scanner does work with my daughter’s MacBook, which comes with the Image Capture app.

Image Capture works ok with perfectly exposed and developed negatives. That is, negatives with a Zone VIII density of around 1.25 above film base plus fog.

Image Capture does not work so well with negatives which were over exposed and over developed. The scans have no shadow detail.

Is there any scanning software out there that will work with this setup? I asked SilverFast and they don’t have anything. The Mac is new with the Sonoma OS.

All I want to do is post some decent scans online. I’m not looking to “go digital “. I’d rather spend my time in the darkroom making prints.
