    Current Large Format Workshops 2020.

Have you taken a Large Format camera workshop or know of one? I haven't taught one in a few years, and I'm just wondering if everyone's gone virtual/digital/youtube. (Tempting)
A quick search of google brought me to this page on the L F P. info archives where workshops from the last century were listed.

Probably time for a more current recap.

    Thanks

I've taken a number of workshops with Tillman Crane, however they are not exclusively large format. He lets you shoot using whatever equipment you want.

And I've taken an exclusive LF/ULF workshop not too long ago at Camera Commons in Dover, NH.

in both cases, workshops for the remainder of this year are not definite.

Because Corona not much is happening in person at the moment.

It's going to be tough if people can't easily travel.

Maybe a workshop in "unsharp masking"?

I did a workshop with Mark Citret in Yosemite two years ago (via Ansel Adams Gallery). It was spectacular in many respects. Mark is knowledgeable and fun, we got a week in Yosemite Valley Lodge guaranteed with registration, and we really got time to explore. I would welcome a class that focuses on the creative aspects, and has general view camera operation as a prerequisite.

I'll be teaching a Carbon Transfer workshop with Vaughn Hutchins through the Ansel Adams Gallery this October 21-24. We hope everything goes on as planned.

We'll have an afternoon and a morning photo session in the Valley using LF cameras to get negatives to print with during the workshop. If the students do not own a LF camera, we'll be letting them use our 8x10s. I will process the film in the evenings (w/ Jobo drum) for printing the next day.

Right now, the Ansel Adams Gallery Workshops are planned this summer and fall with a maximum number of six participants per workshop. There is still room available in ours, but with the lower max students, all the workshops might fill fast -- with the bonus of more personal attention from the instructor(s). But much will depend on Yosemite National Park and the current virus situation at the time.

Another Yosemite Carbon workshop is being planned October 2021.
