My thanks as well to QT for this website and the moderators for maintaining it. Also, thanks to all of the excellent photographers worldwide that contribute their wealth of knowledge, advice, images, and inspiration. Even though I've never personally met you, I think of you as great friends.

Re: 25th Anniversary of the Large Format Photography Forum

I was surprised to see that I have only been here 10 years - feels like for ever. The forum is a wonderful resource and a great place to just visit with like-minded folk. As far as I know, I am the only one in my small south central Virginia county that even owns a large format camera, let alone uses one. So, this place is necessary to my mental health reminding me that if I am a nut there are a lot of other nuts out there, somewhere, like me. Thanks QT and all members involved.

25 years that is great there is interest to keep it going. The intranet webserver I started in 1995 only lasted to about 1999.

Re: 25th Anniversary of the Large Format Photography Forum

I've been around a bit on here, and read (I think for the first time) the About page today. It throws me back way back in time, to when things still resembled a library of sorts out there on the internet. This forum is a holdout in many ways from those days; it has a few grouchy badgers partaking in the action but also a huge amount of very friendly people, being helpful and cheering on most any (reasonable) endeavour. But above all, it is an absolutely amazing treasure trove of information.

For me, it is what community is about: contributing whatever one may be able to, for the common good of large format photography.

Thank you all - hats off to QT, the moderators and the rest of you, badgers included.

Yup, all ya gotta do is search the archive and just about everything has been covered / every question answered.

Appreciation also extends to the moderators, past and present, who have responsibly kept it on an even keel.

Personally, the forum has given birth to real friendships, afforded the opportunity to learn, and on occasion to share reminisces of an earlier era. It has been the ideal place to gather with those who share a similar passion for the art and craft of photography. Onward!

    Best,

I'd wager the percentage of correct answers is no different between those available in the archive and new, redundant responses to members who are too lazy to search the archive.
