    omega Condensor or Dichroic

    G,Day All

I am just getting back into large format photography(40year Break) and I have a couple of questions.I have taken my old speed graphic out of storage and have picked up a nice Nikon lens to go with my older lens.I have a 6x7 back that I used on the 4x5, my enlarger then was a bessler 23 so I did not do much 4x5 .Recently I found a mint 4x5 Omega D5 Chomega D, and a beautiful Linhof 5x7 camera..My question is my Bessler was condenser enlarger this enlarger has this color head and bunch of boxes with different light multipliers . Can I do quality work with this head or should I look for a Condenser head. This came with a turret with 3 lenses and the 4x5 lens is a omega lens but years ago picked up a Nikon 150 f5.6 lens but it looks like it is too big to fit the mount ,is there any way to use it.
    Thanks
    Michael

You might need this, depending on the thread size of the 150mm.

A handful of folks might object to what I'm about to say, but if you already have a colorhead, why would you want to go back to an Amish horse n buggy?

I have never used a colour head all my experience is with B&W type. If a colour head will work as well I will use it. I have not had a chance to try it as I am still a week or two away from finishing my new Darkroom.

I have that enlarger, and it’s a pleasure to use. You can dial in the contrast using the Y and M in the same way you would have used filters in the past, but you can easily get in between values, which is often useful.

Mine finally wore out after many years of hard use. I often used it for black and white printing when my bigger more powerful colorheads were tied up for actual color printing. I did all kinds of graded as well as VC printing with it. Really easy to use.
