    Hello From Wisconsin

    Hello All,

My name is John Koster and I'm a writer and photographer from Wisconsin, USA. Though I have 12 years of digital camera experience, I only have a couple of years of medium format film experience with a Pentax 67 (with the Takumar 135 f/4) and I've now gotten a Chamonix 045 with a Nikon 150 f/5.6. I just started learning, thanks for having me. Now to find a manual somewhere around here.....

I have an 045n too and love it. Really don't need a manual but there are YouTube videos.

John, welcome from the Racine area. I've been enjoying LF for about 6-7 years now, and especially in recent nicer days when I can get out locally. Don't hesitate to contact me by PM if you are nearby and may want to discuss any aspects of LF. 'Enjoy...

    Welcome !

Since you are in the area I wanted to suggest joining the Midwest Large Format Asylum. It is free and a great way to connect with nice people with similar interests. The facebook page is how we stay in touch. https://www.facebook.com/groups/275113417230/ There are periodic outings and in Jan of every year there is a print review. I have come to look forward to it every year now. So much support ...so much talent and willingness to share.

    Best,

    Francis

Welcome, from your neighbor in northern Virginia. The captain has turned off the No Film sign. If there is anything we can do to improve your journey, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! Too bad this Covid-19 pandemic hasn't lightened the mood any, lol. I'm an older guy and I love the look of large format but wow there is a learning curve. I wanted to be able to do everything from start to finish, from loading my 4X5, shooting, developing and scanning, but I feel overwhelmed. So I'm going to slow down and just try and get one thing right at a time, the need to be methodical for this kind of photography is essential, from what I'm seeing. Again, thanks all!
