Re: Lenses for new 5x7 / 6x17 kit

I am a 5x7 newbie and also have the Canham 617 back on the way. My lenses are Schneider 110XL, Rodenstock 150mm and 210mm Apo Sironar-W (but this is huge and overkill so it will be replaced with a 240 Fuji-A), and a 350mm Schneider apo tele Xenar. I don’t bring all of them on a trip depending on the subject matter. For Pano I might need to go wider with a 90mm. At the moment I am in the Southwest with a Cooke PS945 on an Ebony 5x7 and while this is my first time out with this combo I can see the lens has plenty of coverage as far as I can see on the gg. I am revisiting Route 66 and want a bit of nostalgic look. I am shooting at wide apertures. Can’t wait to see the outcome!

If you are going with a 240mm why not jump next to a 500mm Nikkor Tele? A nice progression.

I am more of a 24-90mm 135 format equivalent shooter. For 4x5 format a 90/150 two lens kit is often enough for me.
