Looks pretty annoying if it's true. I ordered my camera in February and have been told it should ship this month. I've bought the needed center filter and lensboard to utilize the Schneider 80mm lens so I really hope it works.
The bed doesn't show at all with a 90mm (using my black MkIV and a Nikkor 90/8 on a flat board) in either landscape or portrait orientation. My Linhof's bed does show with a 90mm in portrait orientation but it's a simple matter of adding some slight front rise to clear the bed. You should be good with your 80mm, on my 90mm @ infinity I still have a fair amount of thread left on the focusing screw. A recessed board will probably help you get some more flexibility out of the bellows though.

    I did this little extension.
I've even succeeded to get the Super Angulon 47mm XL to work with a 15mm recessed board. Not recommended though. Very finicky to work with and to adjust the shutter and aperture.
But for my Super Angulon 75mm it works like a charm.
That's ingenious sir. Btw I love your 6x12 color work.

Hi, looking to do this with my intrepid, I presumed that the front standard fastener was a 1/4"-20 bolt (it wasn't). Curious to know what bolt you used (Is it an M6? and threaded insert). Best, John

I presumed the same, and made a special order (Sweden is very metric), to no avail. Now I have a lot of extra bolts for my tripods.
Turned out hat M6 was fine.

A bolt and a insert for $2 did it.

Thanks! Being in the US myself I need to order out for the metric fittings. So it goes! I'll post when I get it all put together. (I also now have a bunch of bolts and inserts... must be something to make with them). Cheers

Many local hardware stores in the US (Ace, Tru-Value etc.) have a specialty screw section. No problem finding the items even in a small town.

Of course, no issue finding an M6-25 but the head is hex and not finger friendly, much rather have a usable knob and after looking at local ace/home depot/rockler/lowes couldn't find what I wanted.

Is the 810 intrepid equally wide angle challenged?
