On the web site it says minimum bellows extension on the 8x10 is 100mm but usable lenses are 180+. With a folded thickness of just 75mm there has got to be ability to probably get down to 150mm?

I don't know if this works on that camera...
That'd be perfect; I went with a blackened finish knurled thumb screw from JW Winco .

Turned out hat M6 was fine.

A bolt and a insert for $2 did it.

    I did this little extension.
I've even succeeded to get the Super Angulon 47mm XL to work with a 15mm recessed board. Not recommended though. Very finicky to work with and to adjust the shutter and aperture.
But for my Super Angulon 75mm it works like a charm.
I was deep in the mental weeds seeking a solution, this is so elegant!

A bit of information I thought I'd add to this thread:

Using a recessed lens board, a 72mm XL works on the Intrepid, stock. In vertical orientation, you have to be cognizant of the front of the camera as it is possible to intrude into the image area with any fall.

I believe that is the widest lens possible to use on the Intrepid, without using one of the above ideas.

I'm trying to make a similar adapter. Could someone please help with the following info:

    1) the length, width and height
    2) Distance between the two holes
    3) Diameter of each hole
    4) Type of thread

To confirm the Knurled Knob is a DIN 464-M6-25?

Mine is 50mm length, 90mm wide and 18mm high. None of them critical I think.
Distance between holes are 25mm. So that is what you gain in extension.
Diameter of front hole is 6,5 mm and of back to fit a M6 threaded insert. Depens on your insert but around 10mm
    Thread is M6.

Don’t know. I just use an ordinary 25mm M6 hex screw

Formalized the Intrepid extension a little bit today by doing a 3D print and getting a nice knurled screw.

Did a flange to film measurement and got it to about 47mm. Little enough for any 4x5 lens I know about.
Movements are of course very limited since the bellow is very compressed. And there would be problems in portrait mode getting the rail in the picture, at least with a super wide.
But it works, and if you don't use a lot of fall on the front standard you can keep it on all the time.

This is the screw I got:

Anyone who want to print themself can pm me for the stl file.
