Toyo 5x7 deluxe monorail bellows and lens question

Today I was fortunate enough to be given a TOYO V Deluxe monorail 5x7. I can't seem to find anything about this model on google. The owner said it had been sitting in his garage for at least 25 years. Is it a common model? What age would it be?
Anyhow, the bellows is 100% toast, where might I find a replacement, I looked on toyoview.com but that wasn't any help. If I can buy the bellows does it come with the flange on either end of the bellows or do I have to attach them myself?

The lens is a 180mm f4.5 K.Yamasaki Congo, there is a Wikipedia page about these lenses. Are they any good? I have other lenses I can use if I can find a lensboard for this camera.

Yes many here use them, they make excellent bellows

They MAY even glue them to your frames, btw, those Toyo frames with the large flat surfaces make glueing easy if you use the right glue, which eludes me at this moment

Long as the bellows frames are good, the bellows can be replaced. This will likely be made to order or DIY. Check with one of the bellows manufactures about getting a bellows made to order, delivery and cost.

Lens, most any lens in shutter can be used on this camera. The 180mm f4.5 is likely a tessar formula and good long as the glass is in reasonable condition. Shutter will be more problematic as it is subject to a host of mechanical ills.. that can often be fixed-cured.

As long as they aren’t bent they should be fine.

They look OK, long as they are not bent too bad (these appear good), have or make a new bellows for the camera.

Clean up, lube and check out the camera mechanicals for proper operation. Check-verify the proper ground glass position if a fresnel lens has been applied to the rear of this view camera.


As for bellows length, the rail of this camera might not be extendable beyond what is on the camera now. If this is correct, make a bellows slightly longer than the max end to end position of the camera standards while allowing for max rise-fall, swing-tilt of BOTH front & rear camera standards. The trade off is minimum distance between camera standards which will fix the shortest focal length lens possible on this camera without using a bag bellows.
