    Folmer & Schwing R.B. Cycle Graphic 6.5" x 8.5"

    Hi Everyone

Looking for some background on a R.B. Cycle Graphic flatbed camera I just picked up. From what I've found it's a 6.5" x 8.5" and I believe it dates to between 1923-1927 based on wiki and the name plate but the shutter and lens seems older between 1915 to 1920 by way of thread: https://www.largeformatphotography.i...e-Lowly-Versar

The lens and shutter are: Wollensak Regno pat. Feb 6 1900 with a Wollensak "Versar Portrait & View" F-6 lens attached

One point I'm really interested in, is the embossed stamp on both sides:

    Signal
    Corps
    U.S. Army
    C.G.-6 No.32

Past that I'm at a bit of a loss as to finding film holders and film for it. I'd hazard a guess that if there are holders available then 8x10 sheets could be cut to size.

    Thanks

Look up Circut # 8... It's missing the back and tripod assy...

    AKA full plate size...

I bought a whole plate camera from Japan and it did come with the WP back for it; also 5x7 and 4x5
there was no standard for WP holders so you will have a hard time finding holders
contact Richard Ritter to make you a back that will fit into the beautiful Chamonix WP holders
they cost but are with every penny

The booklet, A Survey of Graflex, by Richard P. Paine (1981), lists the 6.5x8.5 Revolving Back Cycle Graphic as being made from 1907-1922. The 6.5x8.5 body only was $49 and with a Graphic RR, $62. No date is given for those prices. Other lenses were considerably more expensive. According to the 2005-2006 edition of McKeown's Cameras, R. B. Cycle Graphics identified as Folmer & Schwing Division were made from 1907-1917. With slightly different names on the label it was made from 1907-1922. The Reversible Back Cycle Graflex Camera was made from about 1901 to 1905.
