I received a 300mm convertible symmar with a camera that has a front group in rough shape. It’s like the previous owner loved the 500mm length and just set the front group on the floor all the time.

Anyway, the shutter is in nice shape and I’d love to fill it. My understanding is that Schneider had some of those shutters made for their lenses and a compound #3 from a Schneider lens is threaded or sizes differently than standard compound #3 shutters?

Does anybody know what other lenses might fill it in an economical manner?

I found a 360mm symmar-s in DB mount. Would I be able to transplant that? I know the convertible version was supplied in a compound #3 at least sometimes.

I guess my other option is just the front group from a convertible 300mm symmar but that seems like a slimmer chance.
