    Friedrich Munchen enlarging lenses...

Does anyone know anything about Friedrich Munchen enlarging lenses? I believe the Coronar is a Tessar design but they also made an Axinon. I am interested in the Axinon. I have googled around and not found much. Anything you know would be greatly appreciated! Robbie

If the VM is correct -- it isn't always right -- the trade name Coronar was used for triplets (f/6.8), 4/4 double Gauss (f/6.3) and tessar (f/4.5) types. Axinons (f/3.5 and f/4.5) were also tessar types.

Thank you Dan. Yes, I saw that the Coronar 6.8 was a triplet but that the 4.5 (and 4.7) are a tessar. I am wondering what the difference is between the Axinon tessar and the Coronar tessar. I wonder why they would make two tessars. There is also a Corygon which is a triplet, just to simplify things.
