Re: My Latest And Probably Last Darkroom

Looks a whole lot better than the empty room! I wish I had a room that size for my darkroom, but I have to make due with my 7 x 11' darkroom. Only thing I would change is the control valve for an Intellifaucet K250! I used a stainless sink I bought 30 years ago, and my cabinets came from the Depot! Drying cabinet is from Cal Stainless. Enjoy the space!!

I am about to start on a new darkroom in a new house myself. Now I have an impossibly high bar to aim at...

Very nice to see again. I recall those pictures from Audiokarma and am still very impressed. I recently got my Pioneer SA-6700 out and hooked it to some new JBL530s as somewhat over the top computer monitors in my darkroom.

Your carpentry skills are amazing. I thought I had a great darkroom, but yours looks fantastic. Wishing you all the best in your printing. I have the same 8x10 set up.

...just make sure to isolate those JBL's away from your enlarger bench - seriously!

    That's great! Very nice! Congratulations!

What is the biggest paper format you can print?
Is it ready for color printing?
Is this ventilation enough for this room?
How do you utilise used reagents?

This is my first post on this forum. I'm so expressed with this darkroom so can't keep silent.
    Hello everyone!

    Hello everyone!
My biggest easel is 16x20 but my 810 enlarger can print bigger if need be. My Beseler 45MXT is color ready if I swap out the Oriental VCCL head on my 45MXT with the Beseler 45S color head which I have for the enlarger. In my storage room which is the small walk-in closet in the same room has a Durst RCP40 roller processor. As for venting I have two exhaust fans mounted directly above the processing trays and vent up through the ceiling and into the attic which is also vented. I save my fixer and reuse it until it exhausts itself and goes down the drain. I know this has been debated to death but most home darkrooms do not discharge any amount of fixer that would cause concern. It's what I do and have done. When I taught photography full time for a high school my district at first had me save and recycle the fixer with a company that would collect it. We did this for about two years and then it was determined that the amount of exhausted fixer we were generating did not warrant recycling.
