Many thanks both: it's a super cool process when it works!!
I'm now actually in the middle of an FP4+ film test specifically for argyrotype, to fine-tune my film developing time (or times) for this process. I think I'm pretty close but I want to understand a little more carefully what's going on. I've had a tendency to overdevelop some of my sheets because of inadequate testing; scanning has made me a bit sloppy since it seems I can pretty much throw any B&W sheet at the Epson and it will come out great. Not quite so with this process!

Stearman SP810 tray, Pyrocat HD 2:2:100, 16’, 21ºC
Acetic acid stop, TF-4 Fix, Hypoclear, wash, Ilfotol rinse

Exposure and dev times both essentially guesswork, so neg rather thin and more work in post than usual, but v pleased with outcome.

I love this! Beustifully done. The soft focus falloff is superb!
