Boston area retail film & chemistry

    Hi forum members,

Is there a good camera store in the suburban Boston area where I can buy fresh 4x5 film and chemistry?

I plan on visiting there soon and will bring my Chamonix 045-N1 and would love to buy fresh film locally.

I lived there many years ago before I knew anything about film.

Thanks in advance for suggestions and recommendations.

Since their move to a new location in Waltham, Newtonville no longer stocks darkroom stuff, and probably not 4x5 film either. Hunt's is the place - go to the mother ship in Melrose for the deepest stock, the satellite stores will carry little if any sheet film or chemistry. Or call ahead so they can transfer what you need to the Boston (Kenmore Sq) or Cambridge (Harvard Sq) store for pickup if those are closer to where you expect to be.

If Hunts can't provide what you need, consider ordering and having it delivered to a PO as "hold for pickup". And there are a number of Boston-area members who might be able to receive a package for you. What part of the area will you be staying at?

Sorry, Omer - didn't realize you're carrying chemistry and paper now, as they're not listed on your website.

    NP .

Indeed this is true - however, the entire Bergger inventory lineup is available for retail at our location (as we share a warehouse with them) and this can be found here:

I’ll be staying with friends in Medford and visiting my Mom nearby. Good to know that Catlabs has a retail store!

OK, so Melrose actually won't be that far out of the way for you. (Before Omer hauls out the wet noodle: you can visit Roslindale, too. )
