    Building a vacuum frame

Hi! I am trying to build a vacuum frame for carbon printing based on something similar to the following: http://colinflanarygraham.com/darkshop/?p=337 and I have some questions for people that have built similar frames: 1) What type of glass and what thickness would you recommend? 2) What vacuum pump would you recommend/did you use?

Regular clear window glass should be fine, this is a typical transmission spectrum:

See datasheet of your lamps to see the spectrum you throw on the glass, see what share/power it is blocked by window glass considering the posted graph. You may make an exposure test, with and without the glass.

    Read this: https://sandykingphotography.com/res...s-for-printing

Probably you will print with UVA and not with UVB, UVB is dangerous and glass transmiting it is more expensive or less common.

While I have not seen that webpage before today, his design is very similar to that vacuum frame I built. His design is a good one. The vacuum pump does not have to be large, this one should work fine: https://www.harborfreight.com/25-cfm...ump-61245.html
