    Hello and a newbie question

Hi everyone, just getting restarted in film photography, picked up a Mamiya Press Universal that has a lens with a stuck shutter I need to try to fix. But it has a 6x9 back, so I'm hoping that's a large enough negative that the Large Format Photography Forum will allow me inside even thought it's not technically large format. :-)
Question: I've been a member for 40 days now, but none of the buy/sell forums show up yet under "Community." Is there something I'm supposed to do?
    Thank you,
    Tim

Hi There Tim & Welcome! Glad to have you back shooting film again. I hope you have a blast because, it is.

Sometimes the automatic 30 day access trip does not occur and in that case contact one of the moderators (great lot of folks) and they will make sure you have access to restricted section . Once you've contacted Mods it's almost immediately that you'll be able to view it.

    Welcome!

    1. Your member profile shows that you have access to the FS and WTB subforums. So look again, make sure you've cleared your cache so that you're getting a current view, etc.

    2. Discussions on 6x9 cm are OK in our Lounge subforum.

Hello Tim. There is nothing wrong with medium format. I presently own a Mamiya C220f and have shot 645, 6x6 and 6x7 in the past. Personally, I find large format more fun. My original 4x5 morphed into an 8x10. You need to pick up an inexpensive used 4x5 monorail with one lens and try it out. If you later find that large format is not for you then you can always sell everything for close to what you paid.

    Welcome to the forum!
