Paint 'balded' or coating peeling inside the lens ...

    Hi,

Sometimes, a seller may describe a lens, as a lens
where (the internal) paint is balding and/or (the
inner) coating is peeling inside the lens.

The seller may say, that the above statements do
not affect the image quality of the lens. Would he
be right, or (generally speaking) there is (really)
an effect on the quality of the lens and/or of the
    produced image?

Is that, by the way, what you guys call 'Schneideritis'?

    Thank you, kind regards!

    Hi,

    Look : ) !!!

You may know better how old they are!
The pictures shown may not show so
much of the 'balding' or 'peeling' the
sellers are talking about. But according
    to him, it is present.

    No difference in results.

If you get a deal on a lens with this issue, shoot and be happy.

Nacho, the Sironar is fine. If you look closely, you'll see that the Symmar-S has something on an inner surface of the rear cell.

As Bryan said, the Symmar-S has light Schneideritis. Trivial, ignore it. The "something," however is a reason not to buy.
