    well...weirdly enough I just picked up one of those also. Appears to be basically an aperture and two elements. Does the photo help any?

    I have a very similar lens, same focus length and aperture. The difference is it has “soft focus lens” on the front rim.

    I took the elements out, the front is single convex, the rear is two glass cemented.

    I believe Rodenstock made an older (brass) version that was the inverse, the single element was in the rear. It was called 'hemi-anastigmat', I guess for 'half of an anastigmat'.
