Data sheets for the new-generation Ilford Multigrade RC Deluxe are up

Ilford has posted an updated data sheet for the Multigrade RC family of papers including the new fifth-generation RC Deluxe paper announced yesterday:

    https://www.ilfordphoto.com/amfile/f...2/product/745/

They've also provided a very nice sheet directly comparing the attributes of the new paper with those of the MGIVRC Deluxe paper that it is replacing:

Thanks to Adrian Bacon at Photrio for the heads-up on these new postings.

This is exciting to have a new paper. The current MGIV RC is amazing paper. I noticed the change in how this paper tones. The data sheet mentions it tends to aubergine in selenium, I hope not too purple.

It is good news, as it's a new printing product

I use RC for it's speed in washing, making quick tests very easy

If I like my test I then MAY repeat with FB

Also, when I was taught wet printing, RC was strictly disallowed in the college darkroom, 20 years ago

    so I rebelled...

I think this is exciting news to have a new paper in 2019. I think this shows the rebirth of film and the analog darkroom as younger people become more curious about it. I have some on order and can't wait to try it.

I am curious if anyone here knows about the archival performance of this new paper?

It seems that galleries won't accept b/w prints unless they are on fiber paper, but I am just an amateur, so it really doesn't matter to me personally because I print for my own enjoyment. However, I am curious if Ilford addressed the gap in archival performance with this new paper, or if that isn't even possible because it is RC paper?
