    Hi all!

New member and just acquired my first 4x5. It’s a Graflex Graphic Veiw with a Kodak Ektar f7.7 203mm lens. I never shot much film after learning at age 13 but went back to photography as soon as digital cameras came out. Several years ago my mother gave me my fathers Rolleiflex and since then I have been shooting, developing, and printing analog. Now I regret my abandonment of film. I have so much to learn! I feel I may never catch up but I will definitely have fun trying. Thanks for the membership.

According to this article https://www.cnet.com/news/photos-the...igital-camera/ 1981, so I was very mistaken as my first digital was a Canon G2 from 2001. It’s coming back to me now! I waited until I felt the format had been developed enough for me. I always liked Nikons Cool Pix as well.

You have a fine camera and a superb lens. You might look up a copy of Steve Simmons' book, I think it's called "Using the View Camera". That should cover the large format basics... for the rest you have us. Have fun!

Thanks mark, interesting you recommended that book. My mother had her best friend send me 6 boxes of stuff from her fathers camera collection. One was full of books which included, Using the View Camera! I'm about a third of the way through it and was thinking how well written and useful it is, I'm really enjoying it. Too bad no view cameras made it to me, but I'm happy to have one now.
