I have two 8X10 Home Depot 'plastic' sheets in hand both will OE protective sheeting still intact

1 is Non-Glare Plaskolite, which indicates this side out, even with the shipping sheets still on it makes a very poor GG

2 is Lexan made by same company, I tried a DA with fine grit on a different piece some years ago. Tough stuff, too tough...

Graham's spray window frosting will be necessary on either

It would be interesting to try and emulate the KMV GG coating

Maybe use pinstripe tape to make aerial views in the frosting...

From Wikipedia:

As the Rimowa distributor in the USA we introduced their Polycarbonate luggage which replaced their earlier ABS luggage.

Sabic bought the GE plastic division in 2007.

A real plastic store would be a better bet. They typically have discount bins of all kinds of random scraps. Polycarbonate like Lexan is not quite as high a light transmission rate as acrylic, but will be significantly stronger and more dimensionally stable than acrylic like Plexiglass, and way way better than brittle styrene.

I used 600 and 1000 grade wet dry sandpaper on Lexan. End result was quite usable and really tough.

Is it easily obtained?

Somewhere I have a quart of a product sample sent to me of a liquid medium you are supposed to spray on a glass surface that has a ground glass mixture in it to create frosted glass similar to the KMV glass. I have yet to try it out.

I've recently ordered & installed an acrylic GG on https://www.pyrasied.nl/en/product/s...ar-gs-acrylic/ (5000 single sided satin, not double sided). The 3mm version in 8x10 is remarkably flat and rigid and the mat satin finish is way easier to focus than the original GG of my Gandolfi. At €10 excl shipping, it's a steal really.
