Amber Plexiglas for Wet Plate Dork Box?

I'm building an all-plexiglass dark box for doing public demonstrations of tintypes and ambrotypes. Anyone have knowledge or thoughts as to whether this Amber plexi would be safe in average room light, or should I go with a darker red (harder to see through).

Dork Box? ROFLMAO! I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Thanks.

And sorry I can't help with your dark box problem. I'm just a photo dork, what can I say?

I guess I should go back and edit that, but let's be honest... it fits!

It needs to be dark orange amber, not yellow amber.

It fits me at least. And I'll bet a surprising number of us will admit to that also.

Been searching for an hour, the only transparent orange I can find is fluorescent, which won't block UV (if I understand correctly, it's hard to get much technical info). Hoping this one is dark enough, but it's hard to tell over the internet...

But the spectral response looks good on paper...

I don't remember the wavelength of the blue part of the visible spectrum, but I would check it. Ifmy memory is correct, it has bee a long times, wet p[late emulsions are also sensitive to blue light.

Bet you were typing as I was posting my last reply. Yup, you can see the overlap in the first photo.

You could order one sheet. Place a Lane dry plate in a solid lightproof box with the amber sheet for the top. Take it out into the light for 15 minutes or so, then process the plate to see what it did.
