    Anton.

Nice to see that the Dry-plate & wet plate versions are different in look & feel..
Dry plate for me is more leaning towards film, wetplate is different.. has a more authentic look to it!

    Nice plate!

    Thank you for looking,
    Alex

Indeed they are different, you are right in your appreciation, at least this dry plate.
So far wet plate is out of the question to me, no space and place to do it correctly.
    Your plates are awesome!

A more classic, less conceptuel portrait.

Nice... reminds me of a favorite collection of photos, Meyerowitz’s “Redheads”.

Another masterchief ! You're spoiling us !!! Thanks

What can be seen as a familly portrait is in fact we you look it it closely, another exemple of a high mastery of film, composition and exposure. Nail polish, swimming suit, shovel and the thingy on the stick have the same bright red colour (the same red/white stripes pattern too) that is not so easy to get with Portra.

One the other hand, one thing is buggin me, how can you put such a sulking/sad/souless expression on your models faces ?
Large format photography is not only about size.

I dont like happy kids in front of my camera. Well, when taking the shot that is. Before/After it's all jokes and fun. :-)

Minor correction, all tintypes are reversed, and all Ambrotypes IF presented emulsion forward. Ambrotypes with the emulsion at the back are "normal, as are prints from wet plate negatives.

    Picky, picky, picky...
