Thanks a lot for this rich and documented feedback Cowanw, your commentary makes me watch my photo in a new light. Thanks Tuco for your nice feedback too, these two girls were great models and were working for real and froze at my command only for a minutes to let me load the holder, this is why they are not too stiff, there were plenty alive twenty seconds before and after the shot.

In the end, beyond all the technical and esthetics behind the photo, I start to understand that large format portrait more than any other photography involves a real teamwork.

This kind of "magic" only happens when we find people willing to undergo the stress of modeling while having fun at the same time. My models for this photo really deserve a nice print 'cause they were great at this !

Some of my wetplate "Stuff" I did the last 4 weeks.
I shoot mainly portraits & fabricate my own collodion, dev en fix solutions.

I mainly use 3 lenses which are the dallmeyer 3b, the Voightlander 30cm f/3.5 & f/4.5 Heliar versions.

These were all shot with the quickest Collodion solution called "Old Dead Bride, Broncolor Pulso 3200 watt/s (1 pop) & the famous Dallmeyer 3b Patent Portrait lens

So here we go : A young girl having a private lesson with a home teacher who happens to ask me to make some photos for her website. They were both so cute in this warm french summer that I asked them if I could use one of my view camera to take a photo of this moment. I was to lazy to carry around my Sinar P2 8x10 so I decided to grab my Sinar P 5x7. Turned pretty good to me, so here we go :

    Sinar P 5x7
    Apo Ronar 360 at F16
    HP5 5x7
    Ilfotec HC 1+47

Any reason why some of the images are reversed - based on wording that can be seen?

    Tony,
with the wet plate process, ALL images are reversed because you are viewing the direct positive image as the camera sees it.
